Upper Mustang Trekking - 13 Days

Upper Mustang trekking offers a spectacular trekking experience in the remote trans-Himalayan mountain region of Nepal. Upper Mustang is also known as the Last Forbidden Kingdom because it wasn’t allowed to visit until the 1990’s for tourists. The trek takes you to the hidden Buddhist world of the Kingdom of Mustang, Lo Manthang.

You will get a chance to explore century old caves, rock paintings, different monasteries, and gompa and learn about the culture and beliefs of locals living in this area. While hiking in the Upper Mustang region of Nepal, we can admire the uniqueness of the tree-less landscape, rocky trails, and views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and the other Himalayas.

Some of the places to visit in Upper Mustang are Namgyal Gompa, Tingkhar, Old royal king’s palace, Amchi museum (traditional Tibetan doctor) and school, Ghar Gompa and many more.

This trek is the best option for those who are looking for less crowded trekking trial in Nepal and also the easiest one because the highest point we will reach during this trek is 3,800 m at Drakmar so that there will be a low chance of high altitude sickness.
