Mt Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is one of the favourite treks of Nepal and the Annapurna region. The trek is also famous as Annapurna Sanctuary trek.
Even before you start trekking, you will be able to get some mountain views right from Pokhara. Along the trek, you will be able to see rice paddies, lush rhododendron forests and high altitude landscapes.
As you reach the base camp, you will come face to face with the Annapurna massif. You will be able to do the Annapurna base camp trek in all season.
The rhododendron forests will be blooming in spring, and you will able to get a beautiful view of the rhododendron forest. The locals we will meet there will be a mix of ethnic groups. In lower elevations, there are Brahmins and Chhetris. Mostly will be Gurung and Magar people in the area.
The Annapurna base camp trek will start at Nayapul. As we continue to hike up, we will pass some beautiful green areas and rice paddies in Ghorepani. As we hike up to Poon Hill, you may get the chance to see sunrise or sunset depending on the time and weather.
On the way up to the base camp, you will go through bamboo forests with varieties of rhododendron and oak trees. As you get nearer to the Annapurna base camp, you will get to see the view of Mount Hiunchuli (6441m.), Annapurna South (7,229 m), Annapurna I (8,091 m.).
