Tsum Valley Trek is one of the world remotest treks. You will be able to see the majestic surroundings of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Boudha Himal ranges. The people of Tsum Valley belong to Tibetan origin. They have their own culture and religion. They practice the polyandry system in which marrying a girl between all the brothers in a family. Very little trekkers make it to this high and mysterious hidden valley. This trek used to be a vital trade link junction between Nepal and Tibet. In this Tsum valley trek, we will explore entire Tsum Valley, which is one of the Buddhism’s sacred hidden valleys. You will be able to find old monasteries and thriving communities of monks and nuns. The highlights of this trek are monastery at Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa. Another critical nunnery is at Gumba Lungdang.

We will be starting our journey from Sotikhola, the gateway to Manaslu trekking. We will be walking up beside the Budhi Gandaki river. As we hike up, we will walk through rhododendron and pine forest. There will be some excellent view of waterfalls along the way. You will be able to get a clear view of the Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, Buddha Himal and entire Manaslu region during your Tsum valley trek. Detail Itinerary Of Tsum Valley Trek

Day 01: Drive to Soti Khola(720m) – 9 hours.

Today we will take an early drive from local bus park of Kathmandu to Sotikhola. The ride will be beautiful. The road from Kathmandu to Dhading Besi is nice road and after that drive from Dhading Besi to Sotikhola will be on the rough road. Along the way, we will cross a beautiful village called Arughat. It will take 7-8 hours to reach Sotikhola. During the drive, we will enjoy the stunning views of Nepalese countryside villages along with mountain sceneries. Overnight at Teahouse.

Day 02: Trek to Maccha Khola(950m) – 6 hours.

After the breakfast, we begin the trek. The trail goes along with Budhigandaki river. We can enjoy the views of waterfalls during today’s hike. After 3 hours of walk, we will stay Lapubesi a Gurung village for lunch, and the trek continues towards the narrow suspension bridges. Again after 3 hours of the trek from Lapubesi, we will reach Machhakhola. Overnight at Teahouse.

Day 03: Trek to Jagat(1,370m) – 7 hours.

Today we trek begins with the trial that drops down. Along the way, we will walk through the lush tropical vegetation and pass a small waterfall. From where we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal. We will enjoy our lunch at Doban. After that, we will again start trekking. After crossing some few small wooden bridges and some suspension bridges over the Budi Gandaki, we will reach Jagat. On the way, we will pass the beautiful village of Yaru Bagar. It will take 7 hours to reach Jagat from Machha Khola. Overnight at Tea House.

Day 04: Trek to Lokpa(1,830m) – 6 hours.

Today after breakfast we will start our trek towards Lokpa. On the way, we will see the beautiful Gurung village called Philim. Philim valley is well known for the school and police stations made by Japanese. After crossing the long suspension bridge and forests, we will reach Lopka. Today’s trek is nor that harder because we will be walking the only for 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at Lopka.

Day 05: Trek to Chumling(2,285m) – 6 hours.

Today’s trail starts from Lokpa towards Lungwa Khola, and after crossing the jack trial for two hours, we will reach Gumlung. We will walk through the beautiful rhododendron and pine forests. After crossing the Siyar Khola finally, we reach Chumling also lower Tsum. From where we can see the beautiful view of Shringi Himal. We will visit the old Chumling gompa and explore the village. Stay overnight at Chumling.

Day 06: Trek to Chekampar(3,020m) – 6 hours.

Starting after crossing the suspension bridge, we can see the beautiful views of Ganesh Himal. Walking again further, we will reach Gho village after crossing the suspension bridge again. Continue trekking to Tsum takes us to the town of Chhokangparo. We can enjoy the tremendous panoramic views of Himalchuli and Ganesh Himal from here. Overnight at Chokhongparo.

Day 07: Trek to Nile(3,360m) – 6 hours.

We will start trekking through the village of Ngakyu. We will visit Milarepa Cave. It is believed that saint Milarepa had done meditation here on the cave. We also have to pay the admission fee of around 300 NPR. We continue our trek towards after crossing the villages Burji, Phurbe, and Pangdun. On the way to the Nile, we will also see the big Buddhist stupas. Overnight at the Nile.

Day 08: Day Trip to Mu Gompa(3,700m) and back to Chokhongparo – 8 hours.

Today will visit around Mu gompa and further trek to Chhokangparo. Today we will do sightseeing around Gompa. Mu Gompa is the largest monastery in the region. The gompa lies remote area and highest part of the Tsum valley. We will also visit Dhephu Doma Gompa. After exploring the Gompa and area, we will be back at Chokhongparo to stay. Overnight at Chokhongparo.

Day 09: Trek to Gumba Lundang(3,200m) – 6 hours.

Today’s trail drops down from Chhokangparo to Gho village and the crossing the Dumje Bridge. After crossing the bridge at Dhumje, which has a Tibetan herbal medical clinic. The track onwards through the pines and rhododendron forests. Further walking of 2/3 hours takes us to Gumba Lungdang. We can see the fantastic views of the mountains from all directions. Stay overnight at Monastery.

Day 10: Day Trip to Ganesh Himal Base Camp(4,200m) and back to Gumba Lundang – 8 hours.

Today we will visit Ganesh Himal Basecamp and returned to Gumba Lungdang for the stay. The trial is not well-marked today’s trial is a little bit difficult but full rewarding. We will walk 7 to 8 hours today to visit Ganesh Himal base camp and return. The intact forest wilderness and views make today’s trip outstanding. Stay overnight at Monastery.

Day 11: Trek to Lokpa(2,240m) – 6 hours.

We will start our trek today early. We will walk down to Dunje and walk through the pine forests. Along the way, we will pass a beautiful village Ripchet. Todays 7 hours walk takes us to the Lokpa back. Overnight at Lokpa.

Day 12: Trek to Dobhan – 8 hours.

Today after the breakfast we will further walk down to Jagat. The trail goes down through the rhododendron and pine forests and joins the primary path to Manaslu again. We continue to walk passing through the village of Ekle Bhatti and Philim. After crossing the Budi Gandaki river and Sirdibas, we finally reach Jagat. Further trekking down will take us to the Dobhan village. We will be walking 7-8 hours today. Overnight at Dobhan.

Day 13: Trek to Soti Khola(720m) – 6 hours.

Today we will walk along the Budigandaki river to Tatopani. Further walking up and down from Tatopani until we reach Khorlabesi. We will cross Tharo Khola and Machha Khola village on the way. Again also walking along the Budi Gandaki river until we reach Lapubesi after passing the steep rocky trail and waterfalls we will reach Khursane, and after some hours of walking from Khursane along the ridge above Budi Gandaki and cross the Sal forests, we finally arrive at Soti Khola. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu(1,400m) – 10 hours.

Today is the last day of our Tsum valley trek. We will take a drive from Soti Khola to Kathmandu. It will take approx 8 hours to reach Kathmandu from Soti Khola via Arughat Bazaar. Overnight at hotel.
