Tilicho Lake is located at an elevation of 4,920 m, undoubtedly presents some of the world’s most beautiful views, a great variety of cultural diversity, and high mountains of Annapurna range & surroundings. Tilicho Lake is also a Holy Place mentioned in the Ramayana and the most famous treks of Annapurna Circuit.
Tilicho Lake Trek is just half of the Annapurna circuit, also known as the Mini Annapurna circuit trek. It also can be done by joining with Annapurna circuit. But if you want to go the Lakes of Tilicho only, there is another itinerary option for you, which takes you to the Lake via Besisahar & Manang without crossing Thorong La.
From Manang, the trial via Shree Kharaka and Tilicho Base Camp takes you to the Lake.
You can do the Tilicho lake trek directly after a drive from Besisahar to the Khangsar or Shree Kharka village. But it would be better to walk this road by adding 3/4 extra days on your itinerary as it helps to avoid altitude sickness.
The trek offers beautiful views of Gangapurna Lake, Annapurna II, III, IV, Tilicho Peak, Hiunchuli, and Mount Manaslu.
Tilicho Lake Trek lets you enjoy the cultural, historical, and natural diversity of the small Gurung and Thakali hamlets living on the laps of the Himalayan range of the Annapurna region.
Tilicho trekking in the winter season is more adventurous and beautiful because of an icy trail, and the Lake is frozen. For the first time trekkers, we recommend visiting the Lake on other best seasons such as Spring & Autumn months.
Trekking to Tilicho Lake is technically not very difficult; it’s just a walk on a regular trekked clear path.
Furthermore, there are no tea houses or lodges past the Tilicho Base Camp, so that we have an option to visit the Lake as a day trip during the daytime.
